The MLB has its share of injuries and issues. It may not be a full contact sport, but players tend to get knocked around quite a bit either way. Pitchers end up at some point with arm or shoulder injuries due to throwing so many pitches and just wearing their arms out. Catchers tend to get knee problems from squatting behind the pate for so many games and so many pitches. Infielders and outfielders can tend to stay much healthier than most. If they do experience some arm issues, they can usually shake them off. They do not throw near as many balls around as the pitcher. Batting can be painful at times to some players. Some have been hit extremely hard by wayward pitches. These can sometimes put a player out for some time. There is only so much safety gear a ball player can use. If they are over suited up, they could not run nearly as fast and be as flexible as they need to be.
With time and experience though, injuries can be greatly reduced. Children for example that have played much must be careful before stepping out onto a real ball field when balls are being hit and thrown around at will.

Many baseball fans are also fans of more contact style sports. These may include football, hockey, boxing, mixed martial arts, or even rugby. One must admit though that there is something nice about baseball being played in quite the opposite way. Nobody likes watching golf because the golfers spend time beating up on one another. They like the sport for what it is, as more of a gentlemanly approach to sports.
For many, baseball is really the same way. Sure, it has quite a bit more action than golf. And yes, you may see some outfielders plow into each other running after a pop fly. And of course there are some fans out there that like to watch a batter that has been dinged by a pitch rush the mound. Many people will remember Nolan Ryan putting Robin Ventura in a head lock and beating him when he was rushed. Take all of this from the game though and baseball is still great. There is no need for batters being hit or seeing them rush the mound.
So what is your take on it? It may all be a part of the game, but for lots of fans out there it is a part of the game we can certainly do without.

Head to any news site, type in something like ‘MLB trades’ and you will see tons of articles come up like this one discussing the possibility of some big off season trades. Trading is a huge part of the off season, and the die hard fans out there know their favorite player or favorite team will more than likely be affected by these deals. Some teams get dismantled pretty hard. It even happens to World Series championship teams. Even the number one team in the MLB can decide to take apart their team hoping to build a better one for future season.
We have seen some championship teams do this and fall to almost dead last in the league the next season. Seems silly, doesn’t it? To that team at the time they feel they are doing the right thing by building on the future. A lot of trades also depend on who has a contract due to expire as well.
So if you want to know what is happening to your team, you’d better head out on the internet and search it out. More than likely the home team in your area will look much different next year. So be prepared for the highs and lows of the trading season!

Besides the game itself, the best thing at the ballpark is by far the food. The smells overwhelm you as you walk through the tunnel from the grand stand into the food court area. The wind whips the smells around the area mixing them into a culinary delight for the nose. But what to buy or choose? I mean, this food can cost a pretty penny. The players you love to watch so much have fat salaries, hence the fat food prices. I do have to admit on a side note, I love that people actually seem shocked when they see the prices of the foods. Sure there are a few out there that have never been to game or just have no clue, but most of us know, so get over it and pick wisely.
For me the all time favorite is the ballpark nachos! Lots of jalapeños on mine and a Coke. But that was just a starter, next we need a hotlink. Sorry ballpark hotdogs can be good, but give me a bratwurst or a hot link over one any day of the week with lots of mustard. Now if your stomach has survived this onslaught, next grab a box of popcorn or peanuts and a mini batting helmet full of ice cream.
So what does all this get you? -A 30$ debt on your ATM card and a stomach who is probably not very happy with you. No matter what, have fun and enjoy!
