Ballpark Food Safety

Posted on: August 8, 2010 by No Comments

How many times have you heard of people heading out to the ballpark only to end up sick some time later? It happens more often than you might think. With such a large operation to run, food vendors can sometimes get away with poor food handling. This can include foods being stored at low temperatures. It can also be that mice droppings and bugs are found near food, or that the employees just do not wash their hands enough and properly. A recent study of the ballparks in the nation showed that many of them ended up with a high number of violations. These violations may mean to you and your family that you will want to be careful what you eat when you head to the game.

So take the time to call your ballpark officials and ask them what they are doing to ensure that you and your family are safe to eat at their establishment. This could be a very important step in ensuring that you have a safe time at the park. The food can be great to eat, just so long as it is handled properly.

It could be that many of your memories are more tied to Little League or watching your kids play ball. You remember the excitement of winning your first game, hitting your first homerun or for the parent watching their young soon to be MLB pitcher strike out the side.
