Baseball is still recovering from news of steroids found in their players on most of the teams. It seems many players may have skated by due to their lack luster performances during many seasons. However, many players that have done well have been questioned thanks to links from people surrounding them claiming they have used muscle enhancing substances.

In any case, for now baseball teams and their players are out of the spotlight. Has the MLB doe enough to keep players tested and free from these substances though? There are many different substances out there and testing for them all can be tough. So only time will tell if the MLB is clean or not. We hope to see that there are no major rule infractions. Sure, some players may feel they need to break them, but hopefully the league will be there to stop these guys for the fans sake.

Many baseball injuries tend to be superficial. Most of the time a player can play with small injuries, but some injuries are much tougher to come back from. One of the worst injuries that can happen to a player is for them to need Tommy John Surgery. Once something like this occurs, it can take that pitcher quite a while to recover. Advances though in modern medicine have made it possible for these athletes to recover much faster than many years ago.

Rotator cuff tears can be very damaging as well. Imagine though how many games Cal Ripken played in a row without injury. This is a rare feat obviously. Accidents can happen at any time and even the smallest of issues can keep a player out for a game or two. How can you help prevent injuries? Play smart, exercise well, and stretch properly.

Not all injuries can be prevented though. Sometimes accidents do happen. Taking care is a good way to help prevent problems, but when you’re in the game and the intensity of the game rises, you just never know what may happen.

If you have played baseball before, you will know that the baseball used can be very important to the overall play of the game, especially if you are the pitcher. The seams of the ball have to be perfectly uniform around it. The core and out materials must be smooth but not slippery. The big differences for pitchers would be the seam height. Up through college the seam heights are taller than the balls used in the MLB. Give a junk ball pitcher one of these type balls with a large seam height and he could really improve his game a ton. Believe it or not, their really is a science behind it.

Baseball bloopers can be a great thing to watch and laugh about over the years. They can start out with kids in little league. Watching young kids that are new to the game can bring about a few surprises when they play. Some of those may be running around the bases the wrong way, playing in the dirt during a game, hitting the ball and not running afterwards or not realizing how many strikes or outs there are. If you have been to a little league game or two then you know what we mean.

As kids get much older, the bloopers will certainly lesson, yet will continue. In the pros we see them rarely but thanks to the media they play us the bloopers for a season, catching them all at once. Many never forget Jose Canseco running to the wall on a deep pop fly that was hit, only to miss catching it, having the ball them bounce off of the top of his head for a home run. It was a painful and quite embarrassing blooper for him, but for us, a nice comic relief in the middle of a long season. Looking for some bloopers now, head online and do some searches, there are bound to be tons of videos with some of baseballs not so finer moments.

For the avid baseball fan, the balance between regular life and baseball is a tough thing to balance. Now that all the regular season games are over and the playoffs have started, deciding what games to watch and how many can be tough. For some fans who don’t care whether their favorite team made it or not, the MLB playoffs are exciting to watch no matter who is playing and when.

For the past several years though the numbers of viewers who watch the games have sunk to all time lows. The World Series used to be a big thing to watch. It seems that the interest in baseball with the younger generations have faded though. The MLB may need to consider making some changes to entice young viewers to watch the game. For many the games and the season can be too long and tedious. For some of us though it is hard to break traditions. An argument can be made that making changes to the game or season could kill it.

Whatever your opinion is, the coming of fall and the MLB playoff season can be a very exciting time. Here is a recap on the 2009 MLB Playoff season! Remember to have fun and enjoy! Enjoy this great article on the playoffs!
