The Team Emblem

Posted on: May 7, 2010 by No Comments

It seems some people that think they could easily design an MLB team’s emblem for them. But really think about it. For example, look at the Yankees emblem for the Red Sox. These are classy representations of their team and towns in which they play in. You will recognize them anywhere; many people even know them that do not watch baseball. Sure, some of them have changed over the years, but the team logo must stand the test of time and through the years never be changed too often.

So which is your favorite or least favorite? More than likely what you see now will be around for many years to come.

Ballpark Proposals

Posted on: May 6, 2010 by No Comments

OK guys, what is the deal with proposing to your hopefully soon to be bride at the ball game? Up on the huge jumbo screens pops the question up there and instantly you’re on the screen on one knee proposing to your girlfriend in front of thousands of fans. It would seem that in proposing in a place like this would be that you both love baseball a ton. If not, it would then seem like you wanted this more than you thought she would.

Either way, it should all be okay just as long as she says yes. If you are considering this, remember that she could say no in front of all those people.

The 2010 Season!!!

Posted on: May 4, 2010 by No Comments

Well baseball fans, the 2010 season is well under way. By now teams that are gunning for the Series have a possible lead in their divisions. Certainly as the season moves along, leads will change and teams will rise and fall back. But some teams may just be that good. They may end up holding their leads throughout the entire season. What may be tougher is climbing up from last place. Teams that have fallen back already may just be in for a very long 2010 MLB season.

The best way for a team to crawl out of last place is by winning games against divisional teams. They will gain much more ground in a sense this way. But losing these games will throw them back even further into last place if they are not careful. I would not expect any managers to be fired yet over their team’s season just yet. But you just never know the expectation put on some of these coaches by owners. So sit back and enjoy the very long ride. If you are a true baseball fan, you enjoy the very-very-very long baseball season.

Silly Injuries

Posted on: May 2, 2010 by No Comments

Rarely does it make then news, but sometimes in baseball there is what is called silly injuries to players. These injuries in one sense can be serious and render a player unable to play for several games, yet at the same time these injuries are caused by a silly series of events. For example, back in the 90′s a player, no names here, appeared on the Leno show. He was offered a prize, a woman no doubt, if he were able to throw a baseball and knock down some bottles from a distance. He was a pitcher for the cardinals at the time. Without warming up at all, he hurled the ball and knocked them down. Next he proceeded to carry off his prize as a part of the stunt. Between him carrying off the woman and throwing the ball hard without warm up, he ended up with a pretty serious injury. Sure, it seems silly to us, but not to the pitcher or the team. So if you play ball, please be careful as to not injure yourself in a way that will reflect poorly on you. Injuries happen, but they can often be avoided by being careful.
