A Shorter Baseball Season

There are some baseball fans that think that the MLB seasons are just too long. The season is currently 162 games long. And when we say long we mean long. No this is not the NFL were we could expect things to end after about 20 games or so, we know the season must have some length to it. Teams need time establish themselves, make adjustments and then try to move on and head towards the goal of making the playoffs. To end earlier takes much more thought than just saying 140 games a year sound good. There is much more at stake here than just a number pulled out of thin air. You have more to think about like salaries, stadiums sitting dormant for longer periods of time. You have advertising dollars to consider, TV time and so on. The list can go on and on and someone would have to spend a ton of time crunching the numbers before any change could or will be made.
So it seems it may just be best to be happy with what you have and move on. The baseball season will more than likely change very little.
