Playing Winter Ball
Posted on: February 18, 2011 by admin
Winter baseball can be a great time for players of all ranks to hone in on their skills. Playing baseball in the extreme cold can be really tough on the body though. It is usually better for that player to find a warmer climate to play in. Many times various types of players will head to Central or South America to play. These climates offer players the chance to play year round in a comfortable climate. That is also why spring training for teams takes place in the South. In the far North, spring time can still bring snow and bitterly cold temperatures late into spring.
These cold temperatures along with rain or snow are impossible to play in long term. It is one thing to play a game or two here and there in the cold, but it is not the best place to practice and train.
Have you ever been to a spring training facility before? This can be a great opportunity for you to see you favorite team in action before the regular season. Certainly it can also be a great way for you to have an excuse to take a vacation from the cold and at the same time watch some pre-season baseball.
