Little League Parents

Little league baseball can be an amazing time in a child’s life. Being a part of a team sport and learning how to separate oneself from that individual side and becoming a part of a group of other kids with the same interest can be great.
Parents in these leagues can have a negative effect on their child’s play and mental makeup overall though. It happens all the time that parents get over involved, question coaches constantly, curse out umpires and fight with other parents. Some coaches have helped to curb this on their teams by telling parents only he coaches the kids in practice and during a game. Parents are not allowed to do anything other than root for their child. No sideline coaching and poor behavior. If they do their child sits. This has been proven to work on some teams, helping the parents see that their kids are there to play, have fun and learn some life lessons and skills. Sure, there will be winners and losers, is there not in life? But parents must realize their child will only get stronger if they let them learn and play without their constant bickering and fighting in the stands.
